Govt. Kirti College, Nial-Patran
Govt. Kirti College Nial-Patran, affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala was founded in 1968 by S. Teja Singh Swatantar (An Ex. Member of Parliament ) a freedom fighter, a Marxist leader. This college was started as a private Co-educational institute. This college was initially run in the village dharamshala. the Gram Panchayat of village Nial donated 170 kanals of land for this college on July 16, 1971. The Chief Minister of Punjab Justice Gurnam Singh laid the foundation stone of the present building on February 7, 1972. Dr. D. C. Pavate, The Governor of Punjab inaugurated this building. In 1974 the Punjab Govt. had taken this college under its charge and now it is running under the name of “Govt. Kirti College Nial Patran, it is the only Govt. institution in the subdivisions of Patran Moonak, Dirba, Lehragaga and Samana together.
It is the only government Co-educational institute catering to the needs of the rural and predominant underprivileged population. This institute works as a lighthouse in this area that promises the overall development of the students. Keeping in view the Physical and mental development of the students, this institute tries to provide every facility to the students. The Co-curricular activities like N.S.S (National service Scheme) and N.C.C (National Cadet Corps) are also being helpful in our goal of teaching National Integration brotherhood and achieving the high character of the students. The Govt. Kirti College Nial is committed to empowering youth to think independently, to opportunities, to set benchmarks for others and finally epitomize the change they seek to bring in the world. Uploading the noble traditions laid down by the founders, the institution surges ahead towards excellence.
